Hughes unmoved by Barca talk

Manchester City, 13:01, October 28, 2009 ,

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has moved to downplay rumours Brazilian superstar Robinho could be heading to Barcelona.

Robinho is reported to have claimed he would welcome a move to Barcelona on Brazilian radio as he believed it would help him accomplish his ambition to be the best footballer in the world.
The 25-year-old has been out of action for City for two months because of a stress fracture in his ankle, during this time the speculation surrounding a possible move away from Eastlands has intensified.
However, Hughes is unconcerned by these rumours and insists Robinho will be staying with City.
"The only problem is that he (Robinho) is not fit and I cannot play him," said Hughes. "That will resolve itself, we hope, in the next week or so. It is about him getting back playing and enjoying his football again. And that takes away any other focus on Robi."
