The Dutch international is keen to hasten his exit after being jeered by Arsenal fans during the pre-season friendly with Cologne on Sunday. While Roberto Mancini's side have been heavily linked with a move for the 29-year-old reports on Tuesday suggest Manchester United are in pole position to sign Van Persie after offering £22million. Kompany has now called on City to not let Van Persie slip through their grasp as he feels he would benefit the champions greatly. He's proved it so many times last season and any team he would play for he'd make it stronger."
