Luisao lure laid

Manchester City, 12:31, June 9, 2009 ,

Robinho wants his Brazilian teammate Luisao to join him at City next season and is trying to recruit the Benfica defender.

The 27-year-old is thought to be on Mark Hughes' shopping list after Robinho recommended him to the City boss last season.
But the City star has now turned his focus to persuading Luisao to come to Eastlands while they are in camp together with the Brazilian national squad, known as the Selecao.
"I know the subject and for me it could be a sensational chance," said Luisao.
"To play in the Premier League is not easy but for me it will be a personal challenge.
"It is certain that I have spoken with Robinho about Manchester City and other clubs, and my companions in the national team have encouraged me to move to England.
"I will agree a solution before the of June, but now my head is with Brazil."
Luisao is set to play in the Confederations Cup this summer, after which he will hope his future is resolved. And with Benfica not having qualified directly for the Champions League, City could swoop to bolster their defence with the giant centre-back.
