Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini feels his side need to win three of their four remaining Champions League group games to progress.
City were beaten 3-2 at Real Madrid in their opening European tie and narrowly avoided defeat against Borussia Dortmund thanks to a last minute Mario Balotelli penalty in their second group game.
Mancini's side have just one point on the board and sit third in the Group D table, three points adrift of Dortmund and five behind Real.
City travel to Ajax on Wednesday and Mancini believes his side need to win three of their final four group games if they are to reach the knockout phase.
"We need nine points from the last four games [in the Champions League] - but our only thought is three in Amsterdam," Mancini told the Sun. "We think about only the next game after we've won in Amsterdam. That will be important."
