Real Madrid are hoping David Silva asks for a move from Manchester City this summer so they can seal a £30million swoop.

As we reported over the weekend, Real boss Jose Mourinho is desperately hoping to add the 25-year-old to his La Liga title winning squad as he has set his sights on bringing the Champions League trophy to the Bernabeu next term. And, while City are likely to knock back all offers for Silva, who helped the club to the Premier League title last season, Spanish newspaper AS claims Madrid are pushing for the player to request a return to Spain this summer which would possibly make their job of persuading City to sell a lot easier. Mourinho reportedly sees Silva as the perfect addition to his squad, while the former Valencia star would be the ideal replacement for Kaka if the Brazilian departs in the transfer window. But, given that Silva's agent Julio Llorente recently insisted that the playmaker was committed to City, it seems Madrid face a tall order to get their man and Mourinho might have to switch his sights elsewhere.
