Senna not in pole position for City move

Manchester City, 11:08, January 1, 2009 ,

Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna has scotched recent speculation that he is set to join Manchester City in the transfer window.

The 32-year-old Spain midfielder is reportedly high on City boss Mark Hughes' shopping list for this month's transfer activity and it was thought he was keen to make the move to play in the English Premier League. However Senna has spoken out to insist that he is happy and focused on life at El Madrigal.
"I know nothing about everything that is being said and I have not spoken to anyone at Manchester City," Senna said in Marca.
"I have read the same things as everyone else and I do not know where it has come from. I only want to think about Villarreal and helping the team to do well.
"I have read about huge sums of money, but the only thing I want to focus on is playing for my team.
"It has all surprised me. I have never said anything to anyone about this and I am calm."
