Tevez's derby battle

Manchester City, 19:30, September 15, 2009 ,

A knee injury is likely to keep Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez out of Sunday's big game against his old club Manchester United.

The Argentinian international picked up the problem playing for his country against Brazil last week.
Initially medical staff predicted a three week lay-off for the player but punters looking to use their free bet will be no doubt awaiting further news as the former Boca Juniors star is refusing to give up on the chance to face Sir Alex Ferguson's men.
City assistant boss Mark Bowen said: "He is back here today and we'll assess it from there, but he is very doubtful.
"What we are hearing is that it's probably going to keep him out, but until the doctor assesses him hands-on we don't really know.
"The boss has been in contact with the Argentina medical team, as has our medical team.
"But the signs are not encouraging. We wouldn't 100 per cent ruled him out yet - fingers crossed and we are always hopeful, but it's very doubtful.''
City are already without Robinho (ankle) and Emmanuel Adebayor may join him in the stands for the derby after his ill-disciplined behaviour against Arsenal.
