Toon to firm up Sinclair interest
Newcastle United are reportedly set to firm up their interest in out-of-favour Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair.
The former Swansea man appeared to be surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium under Roberto Mancini and although there has been a change at the helm, Sinclair's future remains in doubt.
Spanish La Liga outfit Espanyol are one club who have already been linked with a swoop for the player, who City shelled out £6million to buy from the Swans 12 months ago but he then went on to make just 11 Premier League appearances last term.
Newcastle have become the latest club to be linked with Sinclair as they are set to look closer to home for new faces following the arrival of director of football Joe Kinnear on Tyneside to take charge of transfer dealings.
Magpies boss Alan Pardew has grown a reputation for bringing French-based players to the Premier League but it appears they will offer Sinclair the opportunity to resurrect his career in the top flight at St James' Park.
