Toure out of cup tie
Manchester City, 13:00, October 28, 2009 ,
Manchester City will be without Kolo Toure and Martin Petrov for tonight's Carling Cup tie against Scunthorpe United.
Centre-half Toure has a heel injury and will play no part against the Championship outfit, while Petrov has a knee problem.
Striker Roque Santa Cruz is unlikely to be risked after a bout of tonsillitis but left-back Wayne Bridge looks to have shrugged off a knee injury and should be available for boss Mark Hughes.
Meanwhile, Hughes claims he will take the competition seriously and insists he will be trying to win all domestic cups this season.
He said: "We hope to do well in the domestic cups. The Premier League is a huge ask for anybody to overcome some of the best teams, not only in Europe, but the world.
"But certainly the domestic cups are something we want to do well in, and that's what we anticipate we will do.
"My intention has been made quite clear in terms of the strength of the teams I've picked in the competition.
"That's not going to change. Obviously, we've got injuries that we have to deal with, and there will be personnel changes from the weekend."
