Agent speaks on Berbatov future

Manchester United, 11:36, April 14, 2010 ,

Dimitar Berbatov's agent has insisted the striker's future remains at Manchester United despite reports linking him with a move.

The Bulgaria international has failed to capture his best form at Old Trafford since his £30.75million in 2008 from Tottenham and has disappointed in recent weeks when called upon in the absence of Wayne Rooney.
With Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly keen to bring in Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema and Valencia midfielder David Sivla it had been rumoured that the United boss might use the sale of Berbatov to fund a move for the pair.
However, Berbatov's agent, Emil Danchev, has played down talk of the striker leaving the club and believes he will be at Old Trafford beyond the end of this season.
"There is no objective reason for his transfer other than these media attacks," said Danchev. "I neither know of any interest from any other club, nor has Manchester United said anything in that sense.
"Sir Alex has already made his opinion known on this issue. I do not think that he has to re-affirm his confidence in Mitko [Berbatov] every other day. I prefer to trust Ferguson."
