Berb endgame in sight

Manchester United, 12:01, August 24, 2008 ,

Manchester United are reportedly set to complete a £25million compromise deal for Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov this week.

The Bulgaria international scored two goals for his country against Bosnia Herzegovina in midweek, but was left out of the squad which lost 2-1 at home to Sunderland despite White Hart Lane boss Juande Ramos previously claiming he would not be frozen out.
Now it seems United are set to increase their rejected £20m opening offer as Spurs reduce their original valuation of £30m.
Ramos claimed Berbatov's omission against the Black Cats was down to his frame of mind and hinted the 27-year old had refused to play.
"The player wasn't in the right condition to play. It's the club's decision whether to fine him. I spoke to him before the game," said the Spaniard.
