Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly interested in taking Real Betis winger Alvaro Vadillo to Manchester United in a future transfer window.

The Red Devils chief has been keeping tabs on the Spanish left winger, who turned 18 on Wednesday, and is already being billed as the 'new Cristiano Ronaldo' by those who have watched his development in the game closely. And, despite Vadillo having to fight his way back from a damaging cruciate knee ligament injury in the past nine months, The Sun claims Ferguson has been happy with reports from his scouts who have watched his return to action early this season. AC Milan are also thought to be keeping tabs on Vadillo, who became the second youngest ever player to feature in a La Liga match when he made his debut for Real Betis as a 16-year-old in August last year. Therefore, Ferguson will have to act quickly to sign the player if he is interested as it could save the Red Devils a vast fortune in the transfer market given that former star Ronaldo was recently linked with a move back to Old Trafford after expressing his sadness at Real Madrid. Real Betis are obviously keen to keep Vadillo on board but could be tempted to sell if the right offer is made, while the player is believed to be keen on plying his trade in England and has already started learning the language.
