Brown reveals central hopes
Manchester United, 10:16, October 13, 2008 ,
Manchester United star Wes Brown has reminded Sir Alex Ferguson he is still an option for the centre of defence.
The England international spent last season at right-back, with club captain Gary Neville struggling to shake off injury problems, and he played a key role in the Premier League and Champions League wins.
But Brown insists he is more than happy to deputise for either Rio Ferdinand or Nemanja Vidic, Ferguson's established central defensive partnership.
"I wouldn't have thought I was settled at right back for good," Brown told the club's website.
"With Gary being out I was the main contender for that position. Now Gary's back, the gaffer can easily change it. If Vida or Rio are out, then he can put me at centre back."
