Manchester United striker Federico Macheda is a reported season-long loan target of Turkish outfit Bursaspor.
The 20-year-old hitman has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place at Old Trafford since joining from Lazio's academy back in 2007 and signing a professional deal the following year. Macheda made a stunning first-team debut for Sir Alex Ferguson's men when he netted a dramatic late winner against Aston Villa in April 2009. However, after failing to go on and stay in the first-team, the Italian was loaned out to Sampdoria in 2010/11 before spending most of last term with Premier League rivals QPR where he spent the majority of time on the treatment table. Macheda had expressed a desire to stay at Old Trafford and fight his way into the first-team this season, but Ferguson went out and added £24million Robin van Persie to the likes of Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez and Dimitar Berbatov. As a result Macheda's chances of playing look limited again so that has prompted Bursaspor to make a move to try and take him on loan for this season. Reports claim the Turks will pay United 1 million euros for the loan with a view to a possible permanent transfer next summer, while giving Macheda the chance to play in the Europa League this term.
