Evra hits out at United critics

Manchester United, 10:40, February 2, 2010 ,

Patrice Evra has warned Manchester United's rivals to start showing them respect as they bid to win a fourth successive league title.

The French full-back is disappointed at the criticism which has been levelled at Sir Alex Ferguson's side this season as they have slipped behind Chelsea in the race for the Premier League.
Evra feels United are not getting the respect they deserve for a side chasing a fourth straight title and Arsenal were made to pay for that on Sunday when the Red Devils ran out comfortable 3-1 winners at the Emirates Stadium.
He told the Daily Star: "We want to win a fourth league title in a row, to write our name into the history books.
"However, people have criticised us a great deal. Before our game against Arsenal everybody had us down as losers.
"Plenty of people do not show enough respect for the reigning champions. We spoke in the dressing-room before the Arsenal game and there was no question of us even coming away with a draw.
"We no longer had the option to do so - we have to win all our games now. In the end we reproduced the performance we put on at Arsenal in the Champions League last season when we won 3-1."
