Sir Alex Ferguson has been hit by a fine and a two-match touchline ban for improper conduct relating to the Hull City match.
The 66-year-old Scot was found guilty of improper conduct after he approached referee Mike Dean in a rage straight after the final whistle as United hung on for a 4-3 win earlier this month.
The Old Trafford boss will sit in the stands for United's games against Blackburn Rovers in the Carling Cup and the following Saturday against Sunderland.
Former Reds stars Paul Ince and Roy Keane, now the two opponents respective managers, will instead be faced by Fergie's number two Mike Phelan in the United technical area.
The United boss was also fined £10,000 and warned, again, about his future conduct.
An FA Statement read: "The touchline ban will come into effect from 2 December. In reaching its decision, the [Regulatory] Commission took into account Ferguson's admission of the charge and his previous disciplinary record."
