Sir Alex Ferguson will urge the Glazers to do all they can to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United, reports have claimed.
Ronaldo has revealed he is unhappy with the Spanish champions just three years after moving to the Bernabeu from Old Trafford and he is said to be targeting a move away.
It remains to be seen if Ronaldo is serious about leaving but if he is then Ferguson will do all he can to persuade United's owners to push out the boat and bring him back.
The Reds sold Ronaldo for £80million and reports have claimed Real president Florentino Perez is so angry with the player for his recent antics, he will sell him for £100million.
A source close to United has been quoted as saying in the Sunday Mirror: "The manager made it clear when Ronaldo joined Real that if he ever left the Bernabeu he should return to Old Trafford.
"It's a transfer that would prove that United can still compete with anyone for the biggest names in football. But, at the moment, only Ronaldo knows whether he is serious about leaving Madrid or whether he's just having a sulk."
