Ferguson not fazed by Ronaldo

Manchester United, 09:11, November 16, 2008 ,

Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted Manchester United will not be railroaded into contract talks with star winger Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal international's representatives revealed earlier this week that they hope to enter into discussions with Old Trafford officials about extending the 23-year-old's stay with the Premier League champions.
However, Ferguson, who watched Ronaldo score his 100th and 101st goals for the club in their 5-0 thumping of Stoke on Saturday, said he is satisfied with the world player of the year's current terms.
"I don't know what other clubs pay their players, but he [Ronaldo] is very well paid by us and quite rightly. He deserves to be paid tremendous amounts," said Ferguson.
"All the players that are well paid deserve it because they are great players but, at the moment, he has three-and-a-half years left on his contract and we are happy with that."
