Four-year deal for Obertan
Manchester United, 14:13, July 8, 2009 ,
Bordeaux forward Gabriel Obertan has signed a four-year deal with Man Utd following long-term interest from the Red Devils.
A fee in the region of £3m is thought to have been paid to the French champions for the 20-year-old and Sir Alex Ferguson insists the versatile midfielder will be given time to develop.
Fergie told the club's website: "Gabriel is a player we have tracked for a few years now, but because of his educational programme our efforts to get him here have always been delayed.
"We are delighted to get him now as he is an exciting prospect. We like to get young players and develop them, and we will see that in Gabriel over the next two years."
Obertan has been ruled out of the pre-season tour of Asia because of a slight injury.
United have also signed Michael Owen and Antonio Valencia this summer.
