German star targeted?

Manchester United, 13:01, October 30, 2009 ,

Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Rene Adler is being linked with a possible future move to Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson is understood to be in the market for another keeper as he seeks a natural successor to Edwin Van der Sar.
Current understudy Ben Foster has failed to make the most of his chances during the 39-year-old's absence from the first-team.
Julio Cesar of Inter Milan and Schalke's Manuel Neuer are also thought to have come under Sir Alex Ferguson's radar but now reports in Germany are suggesting Adler is their main target.
The German international was also a recent spectator during United's defeat to Liverpool at Anfield although Leverkusen general manager Rudi Voller claims his appearance was purely coincidently.
He told the Rheinische Post: "I am delighted to see players being so much involved with their job they travel long distances to witness other matches.
"I am happy to see Rene being linked to big clubs right now, this is the best signal we have that we have a very good player on our hands and not so much wrong when setting up our squad."
