Reds eye new left back options

Manchester United have been linked to Costa Rican Bryan Oviedo and Italian Guilherme Siqueira, as they eye left-back cover.
It is claimed that United have watched Oviedo in action for FC Copenhagen this season and that the 22-year-old defender would be available for as little as £2million, because he has one year left on his contract. United did see Oviedo play in Costa Rica's 1-0 win over Wales last month for the Gary Speed Memorial, but the scout that attended that night was understood to have commented that teenage striker Joel Campbell, who Arsenal signed last year, was 'head and shoulders' above the rest. Spanish reports today also claim Siqueira, who United watched play for Granada in March, is also wanted by Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Benfica. The 25-year-old Brazilian-born star hit the headlines when he scored twice at the Nou Camp against Barcelona in a 5-3 defeat. However, rumours over potential left back signings have increased markedly since Sir Alex Ferguson revealed he wanted Fabio to go on loan next season, suggesting these links have been unearthed to order.
