Rio in line for Stoke visit
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed defender Rio Ferdinand could be available for Stoke's visit on Tuesday.
The veteran centre-half missed the FA Cup defeat at Liverpool with a back injury but the Old Trafford boss remains hopeful Ferdinand will be available for the Premier League tie with the Potters.
"Rio only had one training session prior to the game," Ferguson said after the defeat at Anfield.
"We couldn't gamble with that. He will train on Sunday and Monday. He could be right for Tuesday."
Nani, Wayne Rooney and Phil Jones also missed the FA Cup defeat, with all three struggling with ankle knocks, and it remains to be seen whether the trio will be available for Stoke's visit.
