Rooney targets scoring spree

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is targeting his best ever goals return in a season after hammering three past Portsmouth.
The United hitman scored a hat-trick against the league's bottom club on Saturday and believes this season could be his highest scoring Premier League campaign so far.
"Taking penalties my tally should be a lot higher," Rooney told the club's official website. "Thankfully, I've scored two of them today. It's a great feeling to score a hat-trick, an amazing feeling."
Rooney's best return came back in 2006/07 when he scored 23 in all competitions, but now he has been handed penalty taking duties for the Old Trafford club punters may wish to use their free bet to back Rooney to finish as the league's top goalscorer.
