Stars to miss Rangers clash

Man Utd have omitted Cristiano Ronaldo, Dimitar Berbatov, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic from the squad to face QPR.

The Red Devils entertain the Championship promotion hopefuls on Tuesday night in the Carling Cup but the big guns will be rested, although the likes of Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez are set to feature.

Midfielder Rodrigo Possebon will make his first appearance since suffering a badly cut leg in the last round against Middlesbrough which resulted in a red card for Emmanuel Pogatetz.

Edwin van der Sar will also be left out so the goalkeeper's shirt will go to either Tomasz Kuszczak or Ben Foster.
