Wayne Rooney has tried to end talk of a move away from Old Trafford by stating he would like to end his career with Manchester United.
The England international, who is currently sidelined with a gash leg suffered in the recent win over Fulham, looked to be on the way out of the club two years ago after handing in a transfer request. Despite making a u-turn and deciding to withdraw the request, there have been rumours circulating, following the signing of Robin van Persie, that he may look for a new challenge. But Rooney, who has been at Old Trafford for eight years, insists he is happy at United and is keen to see out the remainder of his career in a Red Devils shirt. The 26-year-old told Sky Sports: "Sometimes as a player you make bad choices and bad decisions, and I think that's what happened (with the transfer request). "As long as this club wants me, I'll be here and trying to be successful."
