Striker race on cards

Blackpool and Sunderland are in the race to sign Manchester United's teenage striker Danny Welbeck before the start of the season.
Steve Bruce is keen to add to his squad in all areas and only last week completed the signing of Titus Bramble from Wigan and he would now like to add the United striker to his squad.
United are keen for the 19-year-old to gain some more first team experience after spending six months on loan at Preston last season and Bruce will be hoping his relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson may give him the edge over Blackpool who are also very keen to land the player.
