Manchester United will be without striker Danny Welbeck and defender Jonny Evans for Sunday's home clash against Swansea.

Evans missed Monday's Manchester derby defeat at the hands of City at the Etihad Stadium having picked up an injury during training. And, while Sir Alex Ferguson revealed that the Northern Irishman has improved, he is unlikely to be fit to face the Swans at Old Trafford this weekend. England international hitman, Welbeck, suffered an injury after a challenge on him from City's Nigel De Jong and, having left the ground on crutches, it seemed that he could miss United's final two games and possibly the European Championships. But Ferguson confirmed that Welbeck should be fit to face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Sunday week in the final game of the season. Looking to the game against Swansea, Ferguson is expecting a tough encounter against Brendan Rodgers' side which has built a reputation for being good passers of the ball in their successful first top-flight campaign. "The way Swansea have played this season has been admirable," he told the club's website. "I went to see them last weekend. They want to play football. The manager has stuck by his principles and they've had a fantastic season. "[Losing at City on] Monday night was a blow to us. We can only do what we can now and hopefully win our game on Sunday."
