United eye £15m move for striker
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is eyeing a £15m move for Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz, according to reports.
Cruz was one of the biggest success stories in the Premier League last season in his first year in English football scoring 23 goals in 42 appearances.
His performances have attracted growing interest from a number of clubs, with Ferguson reportedly keen to tie up a move for the Paraguayan.
Ferguson is believed to see the 26-year-old as the target man that Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney can play with up front after apparently growing increasingly frustrated with Frenchman Louis Saha and his injury problems.
Santa Cruz has also been linked with a move to Manchester City in the last week and Blackburn's hopes of keeping hold of one of their prize assets look likely to fade if boss Mark Hughes decides to quit Ewood Park.
