Manchester United are keen to hang onto Northern Ireland international Oliver Norwood and have offered him a new 12 month deal.

Norwood has made a big impact with Coventry during his loan spell with the Sky Blues despite failing to prevent them from avoiding relegation from the Championship. The early indicators are that the 21-year-old will put pen to paper on the new agreement as he is determined to prove his worth at Old Trafford. However, the midfielder is likely to want assurances that he will be given an opportunity have enjoyed a regular run in the team at a decent standard with Andy Thorn's men. Norwood, who is still waiting to make his United debut, said: "I have an offer for another year at Manchester United. "It's my big dream to play for United, but I want to have a successful career, wherever that is. Every footballer just wants to be able to play football." He previously enjoyed loan spells with Carlisle and Scunthorpe before linking up with the Sky Blues in January.
