United star ready for first-team comeback

Manchester United, 12:59, January 12, 2010 ,

Keeper Edwin van der Sar is in line to make his comeback against Burnley on Saturday after returning to training.

Van der Sar has not been seen in a United shirt for the last eight weeks after suffering a knee injury against Everton on November 21.
His comeback has been delayed after he was granted compassionate leave to return to Holland before Christmas to be with his wife after she suffered a brain haemorrhage.
But the 39-year-old returned to United at the end of last week and resumed training during their four-day break in Qatar at the start of this week.
Tomas Kuszczak has stood in for the Dutchman during his spell on the sidelines but Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to turn back to van der Sar as soon as he considers him ready and that could come at Old Trafford at the weekend.
