Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has set his sights on Mexican midfielder Hector Herrera, who is also a target for Liverpool.

Herrera currently plays for Pachuca in his homeland but made a big impression at the Olympics in London, as Mexico took the gold medal and is now set for a move to Europe.
Pachuca's sporting director Andres Fassi has confirmed both United and Liverpool have made enquiries regarding the 22-year-old and the Mexican side are resigned to losing the midfielder.
Fassi said: "There is official interest but there's nothing else to add at this time. We have a document.
"We know he's going to emigrate to England. Manchester United and Liverpool have talked to us.
"We want him to continue with Pachuca. But when he decides to leave, the club will give him the opportunity to do so."
Herrera is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, sustained in the Olympic final against Brazil, but United may try and wrap up a deal as soon as possible regardless in order to beat Liverpool to the player's signature.
