United target young French ace

Manchester United are being linked with a £9million swoop for St Etienne's highly-rated defender Kurt Zouma.

The 17-year-old is one of Europe's brightest young defenders and reports claim Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to pip rival clubs to his signature by getting him on board before the window closes.
The 6ft 2in central defender only broke into the St Etienne first team 12 months ago but went on to make 24 appearances in an impressive debut season in Lique 1.
Ferguson sees the Frenchman as a star of the future and St Etienne are unlikely to resist an offer for the player should the Reds boss be willing to pay £9million.
Zouma has represented France right through to Under-19 level and it is only a matter of time before the defender makes his way through to the senior side.
