United 'the only club' for Brown
Manchester United, 10:07, November 25, 2009 ,
Wes Brown insists Man United is the only club for him, despite a myriad of injuries hampering his bid for a regular starting place.
The 30-year-old has spent his entire career at Old Trafford but has seen his bid to have a prolonged run in Sir Alex Ferguson's first-team hit by cruciate operations on both knees, a broken ankle and countless muscular problems over the years.
Brown looked to have been over his problems until last season when he was ruled out again and John O'Shea stepped into the right-back spot and virtually made it his own.
Injuries to both skipper Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans has seen Brown used in the centre of defence of late. And, despite acknowledging that he will probably make way when everyone is fit, the England international has stressed that he will never look to leave United.
"I have been injured on so many occasions, I am used to coming back and trying to getting back into the team," he said.
"That has happened again this season. The injuries have been frustrating but this is the only place I have ever wanted to be and Manchester United is the only club I have ever wanted to play for.
"I am still happy to do that."
