United's Gill locked in Berba talks
Manchester United, 10:32, August 14, 2008 ,
Dimitar Berbatov is training at Spurs Lodge today as Man Utd and Tottenham struggle to reach agreement on a deal.
The 27-year-old is desperate to complete his proposed switch to Old Trafford and is believed to be increasingly frustrated by Tottenham's expensive price demands to part with him - thought to be £32million.
United tabled a £20million bid for the Bulgarian a month ago and United's chief executive David Gill is said to be locked in intense negotiations with White Hart Lane officials.
But so far, the two parties have failed to reach an agreement as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy refuses to lower his asking price below £30million for a player who still has three years left on his White Hart Lane contract.
Levy is also furious that his complaint over alleged misdemeanour from Old Trafford in approaching the striker appears set to be thrown out by the Premier League, who have reportedly told Spurs there is not enough evidence to base the complaint on.
