Utd ace in fitness setback

Manchester United, 12:31, August 30, 2008 ,

Owen Hargreaves faces an extended spell on the sidelines after the Manchester United star suffered a recurrence of his knee injury.

The England international was due to feature against Zenit St Petersburg in Friday's Super Cup clash, but Hargreaves was forced to miss the game after the latest setback.
The 27-year-old has not played so far this season, having suffered with tendinitis over the summer, and now faces more time out, after the injury flared up in training on Thursday.
Speaking to the United website, Sir Alex Ferguson revealed: "He said he felt his knee and that he was not fit enough to play.
"There is nothing you can to do about it. If a player declares himself unfit you have to accept that.
"We'd have liked to play him and get him back into the run of things and playing football again. To be honest, he has not played enough football in the last year. He'd like to get back and it is disappointing."
