Van Persie U-turn mooted

Robin van Persie could be about to perform a U-turn and pen a new deal with Arsenal, despite reports Manchester United are closing in.
Van Persie stunned the Gunners earlier in the summer when he revealed he would not be signing a new deal and wanted to move on and United along with Manchester City and Juventus have been strongly linked. However none of the interested parties have so far managed to agree a deal with Arsenal and reports now claim that Van Persie could stay at the Emirates Stadium after being impressed with the quality of the signings that Arsene Wenger has made. Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud have already signed, but it is the imminent arrival of Spanish international winger Santiago Cazorla that has excited the Dutchman most. Van Persie is also said to be frustrated with the fact that no-one has managed to strike a deal with Arsenal for his services, although that could change in the next week. Reports have suggested that United are ready to bid £50million to land Van Persie and Brazilian Lucas Moura, so Arsenal's hopes of keeping hold could yet be dashed.
