We can cope - Vidic

Manchester United, 12:12, August 12, 2008 ,

Nemanja Vidic insists Manchester United can deal with the absence of Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo due to the size of their squad.

The Serbian centre-back is in confident mood ahead of the new campaign, despite the champions being without two of their most influential forwards due to injury.
Both Rooney and Ronaldo will be missing when United take to the pitch against Newcastle on Sunday, but Vidic believes Sir Alex Ferguson has plenty of quality in reserve to be able to cope with their absence.
Vidic said: "We have a big squad - everyone stayed over the summer - and maybe the boss will look to bring in one more player.
"We have missed Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo during pre-season, but against Portsmouth we saw that other players can fill their positions."
