Welbeck to miss Blues date
Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Danny Welbeck will miss Sunday's visit of Chelsea but Paul Scholes is poised for a return.
The Red Devils chief has revealed that 22-year-old England international striker, Welbeck, will play no part in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford because of knee trouble but Scholes, who has not featured since suffering knee trouble in the 4-1 win against Fulham on January 26, is set for a place on the bench.
Ferguson also revealed that Nemanja Vidic is back in training following a calf strain but he is unlikely to play a part against the Blues.
"Welbeck is out of Sunday," Ferguson said at his Friday morning press conference.
"The rest are all fit. Scholes and Vidic are training and I'll probably put Scholes on the bench on Sunday to get him back into the fray. I'd love him to play in the Swansea game."
"We did pretty well at Arsenal last weekend and should've won it with the chances we had. Chelsea are chasing a Champions League place as well and we'll be playing the strongest team we can," he added.
"Chelsea have done fantastically well over the last few weeks and they are in the final of the Europa League. It should be a good game. We need to play with good enthusiasm and enjoy it. We should express ourselves and try to finish off a good season."
