Arsenal 2-2 Everton
Match Reports, 17:37, January 9, 2010 ,
Arsenal scored an injury-time equaliser to salvage a point against Everton in a dramatic encounter at the Emirates Stadium.
In the day's only 3pm Premier League kick-off that survived the weather, the visitors took the lead in the 12th minute when Leon Osman headed debutant Landon Donovan's corner past Manuel Almunia, and they looked good value for their lead.
It took a deflected shot from Denilson to level the score in the 28th minute, Tim Howard completely wrong-footed when the Brazilian's effort hit the goalscorer Osman.
Everton weren't looking a team four points off the relegation zone and seemed to be handling the wintry conditions better, as snow began to settle on the Emirates pitch. David Moyes' men took the lead with only nine minutes remaining, Tim Cahill's pass finding Steven Pienaar, who ran at the Arsenal goal from inside his own half and coolly lifted the ball over Almunia.
It seemed the points would be leaving with Everton but Arsenal got their equaliser two minutes into injury time, substitute Tomas Rosicky beating Howard with the aid of another deflection, this time from the unfortunate Lucas Neill.
