Arsenal 4-2 Bolton Wanderers

Match Reports, 22:02, January 20, 2010 ,

Arsenal come from two goals down to beat Bolton Wanderers 4-2 and leapfrog Chelsea to go the top of the Premier League.

The Gunners were made to work hard for the win that sees them go above the Blues on goal difference by a Bolton outfit that were left fuming by a pivotal moment early in the second half.
With the visitors leading 2-1, Mark Davies was left crumpled in a heap by a nasty lunging tackle by William Gallas that referee Alan Wiley chose not to penalise. Arsenal broke quickly against 10 men, the in-form Cesc Fabregas coolly slotting in an equaliser with the Bolton players and bench unified by outrage.
Davies was stretchered off after receiving five minutes of treatment and whilst Arsenal had many other chances to draw level, Owen Coyle will no doubt point to the incident as the game's turning point.
Wanderers held a two goal lead until 44 minutes after Gary Cahill punished some poor home defending on seven minutes, Matt Taylor doubling the lead inside half an hour from the spot after Chun-Yong Lee had been fouled by Denilson.
Tomas Rosicky got the crucial breakthrough for the hosts on the stroke of half-time, firing home after pouncing on a loose ball in Bolton's half.
The Gunners' increasing second half pressure culminated in Thomas Vermaelen's firm finish on 65 minutes after the Trotters failed to clear a corner.
Jussi Jaaskelainen made numerous excellent stops but was unable to prevent Andrey Arshavin wrapping up the points in the closing minutes.
