Ten-man Villa secured a point against a Norwich side who will feel they should have left Villa Park with maximum points.

Christian Benteke opening the scoring against the run of play for the home side, before Michael Turner earned Norwich a deserved draw with a second-half strike. Norwich started the better and went close to opening the scoring when Grant Holt poked the ball through for Wes Hoolahan but Brad Guzan was on hand to make a great save. Guzman was called into action again when he intercepted a dangerous low cross from Holt. However, it was Villa who took the lead. Brett Holman picked up the ball on the left before crossing for Benteke to fire home after losing his marker. Hoolahan was denied by Guzman again after the break, this time the Villa keeper blocking his volley. Guzman was the hero once more when he made himself big to keep out Holt. Norwich finally made the break through on 79 minutes, Turner finding the back of the net with a glancing header from Hoolahan's cross. The Canaries laid siege to the Villa goal looking for a winner but the home side managed to hang on as it finished all square.
