Goals from Michael Lowton and Christian Benteke saw Aston Villa claim their first victory of the season over Swansea City.

Swansea City dominated possession in the first half but were unable to find a breakthrough and a clinical Aston Villa made them pay. After going ahead Villa were the better team and Brad Guzan went largely untested for the second half.
Michael Laudrup's side might have gone ahead after just eleven minutes when Ashley Williams powered a header towards the corner. Guzan made a fine reaction save though and was forced into action seconds later when he turned Nathan Dyer's curling effort wide of the post.
On 16 minutes Villa went ahead. Williams clearing header was brought down by Michael Lowton and the full-back struck a left-footed drive into the top corner from 20 yards, leaving Michel Vorm stranded.
Andreas Weimann might have doubled the lead 10 minutes after the restart when he stabbed the ball through a crowd of players and towards the corner but Leon Britton was on the line and made the block.
Despite creating few chances in the second half Swansea were still in the game until the 88th minute when a poor back header from Williams was pounced on by Christian Benteke and he made no mistake in converting from close range.
Paul Lambert's side move up to eleventh place in the table on four points after the win while Michael Laudrup's Swansea slide down into fifth.
