Burnley 1-2 Chelsea

Match Reports, 19:58, January 30, 2010 ,

John Terry clinched a late winner for Chelsea to defeat a spirited Burnley side and send his side four points clear at the top.

Burnley looked to be heading for another impressive draw against a title challenging team as Steven Fletcher's goal negated Nicolas Anelka's first-half strike but Terry sealed the victory in the final ten minutes.
Anelka gave Chelsea the lead just before the half-hour mark as he capped a fine Chelsea move with a neat finish from 12 yards. Joe Cole found Florent Malouda in the build up and Malouda played the cut back for Anelka.
The equaliser came five minutes after the restart as a slip from Alex allowed Robbie Blake to play in Steven Fletcher who tucked the ball home from close range to bring Burnley back on terms.
Chris Eagles nearly gave Burnley the lead just after the hour mark as he strode forward and struck a long-range shot from distance that bounced awkwardly in front of Petr Cech but the Czech still made the save.
Chelsea were probing for a winner and eventually got it with eight minutes to go as Frank Lampard delivered a corner that was met by Terry who headed home with power.
