Javier Hernandez scored the winner in a thrilling encounter which saw Manchester United beat nine-man Chelsea 3-2 at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea enjoyed more of the ball in the opening stages but found themselves a goal behind after just four minutes, when Wayne Rooney played cross to Robin Van Persie, who saw his strike hit the right upright, before bouncing off hitting David Luiz and going back into his own goal.
The Blues looked shell-shocked in the 12th minute when in a similar move, Antonio Valencia found Van Persie with a low cross from the right flank and the Dutch striker made no mistake from eight yards out.
Chelsea started to settle into the game and were piling on the pressure before the break when their efforts paid off on the 44th minute.
Wayne Rooney brought down Eden Hazard just outside the area before Juan Mata stepped up and curled the ball past United keeper David De Gea from the resulting free-kick.
Chelsea continued the second half where they left off in the first and it was not long before they were level when a Hazard cross found Ramires who headed home.
The game saw the first of its two red cards when Branislav Ivanovic brought down Ashley Young who was through on goal in the 63rd minute, before Fernando Torres was adjudged to have dived in a tackle from Jonny Evans and earned his second yellow just six minutes later.
With the two-man advantage United started to dominate and they scored the winner in the 75th minute when Rafael's driven shot was diverted in by Hernandez, although there was a hint of offside about the goal.
The result was a formality from that point on and it was United who left the capital with all three points.
