Despite a spirited performance from FC Nordsjallaend, Chelsea's late flurry sees them cruise to victory away from home.

When Frank Lampard slid a sensational pass into the path of Juan Mata and the Spaniard duly slotted home on 33 minutes, the hosts may have feared an onslaught but it didn't materialise. Nordsjaelland matched the visitors stride for stride throughout the first half and well into the second. They might have been level with 17 minutes remaining but Joshua John's strike was turned onto the post by Petr Cech and Ashley Cole hacked Mikkel Beckmann's rebound off the line seconds after. David Luiz's free-kick put Chelsea fans at ease with ten minutes to go, the Brazilian's powerful, dipping strike bouncing in off the inside of the post. Mata netted his second goal of the game two minutes later when he broke into the box after a neat move, stroking the ball into the bottom corner. Oscar was heavily involved in adding the final flourish. After a fine one-two with Fernando Torres the Brazilian got to the byline before pulling the ball back for the waiting Ramires, who touched it into the empty net. In the end the scoreline flattered Chelsea but there is no doubt that they were worthy winners.
