Fulham 3-0 Blackburn Rovers

Match Reports, 22:11, November 25, 2009 ,

Fulham secured a fourth home victory of the season in a game of two halves against Blackburn at Craven Cottage.

Rovers outplayed Roy Hodgson's men in the first half, with Franco Di Santo missing a good chance to open the scoring within the first couple of minutes. Keith Andrews' through ball picked out the striker perfectly but Mark Schwarzer was on hand to keep the scores level.
That chance was the highlight in an otherwise dull and frustrating half hour, characterised by sloppy play and an inability from both sides to keep hold of the ball for a sustained period of time.
Blackburn applied plenty of pressure on the Fulham defence without ever truly testing Schwarzer and the opening goal was something of a sucker punch, as Erik Nevland scored with a low finish against the run of play.
Fulham started the second half brightly and their second goal effectively put the game to rest. Good work from Damien Duff created a chance for Clint Dempsey and the USA striker finished from close range.
Dempsey was on hand once again with just two minutes remaining to compound the away side's misery, turning Ryan Nelson before finishing from six yards after substitute Simon Davies' run and cross.
