Hull City 2-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Match Reports, 17:09, January 30, 2010 ,
Wolves come from behind twice to take a point away from a crucial relegation encounter, which Hull will feel they should have won.
Hull City were twice in front against Wolverhampton Wanderers today but could only come away with a point as an own goal from Anthony Gardner and a strike from Matt Jarvis cancelled out goals from Jan Venegoor of Hesselink and Stephen Hunt.
The opener came after just eleven minutes as Jozy Altidore pulled the ball back to Venegoor of Hesselink on the edge of the box and the striker made no mistake as he fired the ball into the bottom corner to put Hull ahead.
The match came to life after the break as Gardner headed a Ronald Zubar cross into his own net and gifted Hull City the leveller just three minutes after the restart.
Wolves' delight was short-lived as four minutes later Altidore broke into the box and was fouled by Zubar. The resulting penalty was dispatched with power by Hunt to put the Tigers ahead for the second time.
The second equaliser of the day came at the midway point in the second half as Kevin Foley squared for Matt Jarvis arriving in the box. Jarvis calmly stroked the ball into the bottom corner from twelve yards to earn Wolves a point.
