Two Darren Bent goals were enough to help ten-man Tottenham come from behind to defeat nine-man Manchester City at Eastlands.
A thoroughly entertaining first half started positively with both teams looking to attack at any given opportunity. The opening goal was always just around the corner and it was just a matter of who it would fall to.
After 16 minutes, the home side were the team to get themselves in front. Shaun Wright-Phillips' original shot was saved by Heurelho Gomes, but the ball then fell to Robinho who kept his composure to tap the ball into the net.
Manchester City then began to play some excellent football and Stephen Ireland should have made it 2-0 after being played through on goal by Robinho.
The turning point of the first-half came after 26 minutes though when Gelson Fernandes was sent-off after picking up his second booking of the game for a challenge on David Bentley.
Making the most of the man advantage, Tottenham got themselves on level terms just three minutes later. Richard Dunne lost the ball at the wrong time allowing Bent to run clear on goal and direct his low shot past Joe Hart.
For the rest of the half, Tottenham grew in confidence, but neither side tested the opposition goalkeeper as they went into the break all square.
The second half was equally as eventful and got underway with Tottenham the more dominant of the two sides. A neat passing move from the visitors almost resulted in them going ahead, but Luka Modric's shot was crucially blocked by Javier Garrido.
After 64 minutes though, the away side finally got the goal they had been threatening. A long ball forward found Jermaine Jenas and Bent latched onto a pass from the former Newcastle man before smashing his shot in off the post.
Manchester City then proceeded to have a good spell of play with Robinho being denied the equaliser by a diving save from Gomes.
The game was effectively over though when Dunne was dismissed after 83 minutes. The Manchester City skipper brought down Bent when he was adjudged to have been the last defender and the home side were down to nine men.
This wasn't to be the end of the drama though as Benoit Assou-Ekotto lunged in on Garrido just six minutes later and was also show the red-card to reduce Tottenham to ten men.
The home side had a couple of half chances in stoppage time, but Tottenham held onto the victory to secure their first back-to-back Premier League wins in 29 games.
