Carlos Tevez and Shay Given were the heroes as Manchester City secured a 2-1 win over league leaders Chelsea at Eastlands.
Tevez lashed home a 20 yard free-kick in the 56th minute to put the home side in front, before City goalkeeper Given saved Frank Lampard's penalty late in the game.
Emmanuel Adebayor was the focus of attention in the first half after scoring at both ends.
The former Arsenal player deflected Lampard's cross into his own net eight minutes in, to give Chelsea the lead.
The former Arsenal man then took advantage of a mix-up in the visitor's penalty area to prod the ball home for a 37th minute equaliser.
The goal gave City momentum and it was left to Tevez to fire home a second half winner that reduces Chelsea lead at the top of the table to two points.
