Manchester City 2-2 Fulham

Match Reports, 18:01, October 25, 2009 ,

Manchester City let a two-goal lead slip at home to Fulham and missed out on the chance to go fourth again the Premier League.

Mark Hughes' men were in cruise control with an hour played before the dramatic turnaround as City's defensive frailties again resurfaced.
Four goals in fifteen second-half minutes encapsulated this entertaining encounter.
City, who had been the better of the two sides in the first half, took the lead just eight minutes after the restart when Craig Bellamy's corner was steered goalwards by Emmanuel Adebayor and Joleon Lescott applied the finishing touch from all of six inches for his first City goal.
It was a kick in the teeth for Fulham, who had started the second period much better than the first and should have been in front themselves when Diomansy Kamara's effort was parried by Shay Given into the path of Bobby Zamora, who somehow missed from five yards out.
The home side went on to double their advantage on the hour mark, when Martin Petrov exchanged passes with Gareth Barry before firing home left-footed from just inside the area.
At that stage, you could only see one side winning the game and that was City.
However, Fulham had other ideas and responded almost immediately to reduce the arrears after a spell of possession deep in the City half, Stephen Kelly found Damien Duff who swept home to bring the visitors back into the game.
Five minutes later and the Londonrs were level, when Clint Dempsey headed home via a post after winning the aerial battle with Lescott.
City huffed and puffed as they went in search of a winning goal, but Fulham held firm and that was how the game ended.
